Our History

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) was established in 2004 to support research and education at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

Under the chairmanship of Baroness Margaret McDonagh, OREF’s a board of Trustees work with clinical and research staff to raise funds and support SWLEOC’s research and education initiatives.

OREF’s support has enabled SWLEOC to develop and maintain one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive outcome databases that has helped the centre to secure a reputation for high volume, high quality, clinical work with robust evidence of clinical outcomes and steady stream of peer reviewed clinical publications.
